L&T wins contract for 132/11kV Dubai substation

    The construction arm of Indian engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro has won several orders in India and abroad, including one for a power substation in Dubai, said local reports on Friday, July 23.

    This is actually a contract to design, supply, construct, install, test, and commission a 132/11kV substation with associated cable works in Dubai, said the reports.

    L&T has over the years built several substations with similar substations in Dubai.

    For example, it was awarded contracts for substations with much the same specifications in April this year and late in 2019.

    L&T has also secured two transmission line packages from Africa, said the reports.

    It also said its Power Transmission & Distribution Business has landed a package involving supply and construction of a new gas insulated substation and associated substation extensions in Thailand.

    These works are expected to enhance the transmission system security and support the rising demand for electricity in the upper northern parts of the country.

    L&T has also won a turnkey order for urban power distribution in Ayodhya city in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in addition to a contract to build a 220kV transmission line in the Ladakh region.
