Sharjah Shopping Promotions sees 40 percent more shoppers this season

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has seen off another season of the 48-day “Sharjah Shopping Promotions” campaign.

It resulted in an increase in the sales of the participating malls and stores, and lucrative profits for the retail sector and other business sectors.

The volume of purchases throughout the campaign grew by 25 percent.

The campaign saw an increase in the number of shoppers exceeding 40 percent compared to last year.

Some 653 shops and stores took part in the event, offering attractive discounts of up to 75 percent on leading brands and various types of goods.

Valuable gifts and prizes were presented to the shoppers, amidst strict precautionary and preventive measures.

Abdul Aziz Shattaf, Assistant General Manager for the Communications and Business Sector, SCCI said, “This reflects the SCCI’s vision and strategy to boost the economic movement and highlight the tourist attractions in the emirates.”

Jamal Said Bouzanjal, Director of Corporate Communications Department, General Coordinator of the Promotions, said: “This is attributed to the SCCI’s innovative work mechanisms suitable for such recreational events in order to attract the largest possible number of shoppers and visitors.”

Bouzanjal explained that SCCI embraces the concept of modern economy in festivals and shopping events to keep pace with international best practices in revitalizing the retail trade sector and other sectors.

It includes hotel, tourism and travel sectors. At the closing ceremony, SCCI was honored for successfully organizing the event.
