UAE keen on new technologies, says minister at Raisina Dialogue 2023

NEW DELHI, INDIA –  UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Omar Sultan Al Olama said that his country has succeeded in adopting state-of-the-art, digital, and futuristic solutions as a key pillar for enhancing prosperity.

Al Olama made this remark at the Raisina Dialogue 2023 – the leading global conference on international affairs – held in partnership between India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation.

Representatives from over 100 countries, including ministers, military commanders, captains of the Industry, technology leaders and strategic affairs’ experts participated in the event.

The minister said under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , President of the UAE and the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the country has  succeeded in adopting digital solutions.

Al Olama said the UAE is keen on sharing knowledge, experience and success stories by participating in international conferences.

He said the UAE is keen on implementing new technologies to serve communities and in building a comprehensive digital future.

He stressed on the importance of designing technological policies that embrace global development, growth and accelerate changes.

Al Olama urged on the need to develop technological opportunities for start-ups which invests in the skills of  entrepreneurs and enhances  agility to adapt to changes in global economies.

The session witnessed the participation of Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka; Baijayant Panda, National Vice-President, Bharatiya Janata Party, India; Dr. Ayoade Alakija, Co-Chair, African Union’s African Vaccine Delivery Alliance; Special Envoy and Co-Chair for ACT-Accelerator, World Health Organization; and Gautam Aggarwal, Division President – South Asia, Mastercard.

The session discussed challenges in finance and infrastructure in domestic and international policies, digitalization’s role in enhancing resilience and access for communities and supply chains to achieve sustainable economic growth.

It also discussed challenges against the spread of digital technology to communities and companies.

The session touched upon the importance of upgrading skills alongside economies’ adjustment to the technological revolution.

They also discussed setting policies that keep pace with technological development in digital sectors such as artificial intelligence, Metaverse and others, and the best platforms that can speed up this process.
