MOSCOW — Most countries are prepared to stand up for their sovereignty, and the times call for the international community to work together in shaping the future world, said Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video address to participants and guests of the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security.

“We are seeing consistent movement toward the emergence of a multipolar world order. Most countries are prepared to stand up for their sovereignty, national interests, traditions, culture, and way of life,” he emphasized.

The Russian head of state underscored the fact that new centers of economic and political authority were gaining in strength.

According to him, all of this “can provide an important basis for stable, progressive global development and, most importantly, for efforts to find genuine solutions to social, economic, technological and environmental issues, as well as for improving the quality of life and well-being of millions of people.”

Putin stressed that open, honest and unbiased discussions, such as the Moscow conference, were highly important and relevant because “the entire international community will need to work together on an equal footing to shape the future.”

The United States is trying to reformat the system of interstate interaction in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) and integration of the bloc’s forces with AUKUS (Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States) cannot be ruled out, said Putin.

“The United States seeks, among other things, to reformat according to its templates the system of interstate interaction established in the Asia-Pacific Region,” Putin said.

He noted that the promotion of the so-called Indo-Pacific strategies, “in fact, is aimed at creating Washington-controlled military-political associations.”

“We do not rule out that they are after the full integration of NATO forces with the emerging structures of the AUKUS bloc,” Putin emphasized.

The US formed the AUKUS alliance with Australia and the UK in 2021. This partnership provides, in particular, for the construction of nuclear submarines for Canberra and a number of other joint military projects. The White House speculated that this bloc might be expanded in the future to incorporate US partners in Europe and Asia. (TASS)
