Dubai, UAE — Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air announced five new destinations on Monday after taking delivery of the first three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in its fleet, marking a key milestone in the carrier’s launch plans, SPA reported.
The Public Investment Fund-backed airline said it would begin services to Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Madrid and Manchester as it expands operations ahead of a broader international rollout.
Flights to Jeddah are scheduled to start on June 14, followed by Dubai on June 18 and Cairo on June 25. Services to Madrid and Manchester are due to begin on July 17 and July 23, respectively.
Riyadh Air also brought forward its inaugural London service to June 10 from July 1, citing the earlier-than-expected arrival of new aircraft.
The airline said additional destinations would be announced in the coming weeks as it works toward its goal of linking Riyadh with more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.
The expansion forms part of Saudi Arabia’s wider strategy to develop the kingdom into a global aviation and tourism hub under its Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.
Riyadh Air said its Boeing 787-9 fleet would feature advanced cabin technology and upgraded hospitality services designed to enhance the passenger experience.
