This was revealed by the Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) attar Mohammed Al Tayer during his keynote speech at the 18th IRF (International Road Federation) World Meeting and Exhibition, titled "Roads to Tomorrow: Dubai’s Pathway to Sustainable Mobility" on Monday.

The Road and Transport Authority has charted out technical event management plans and developed a structure for the mobility of Expo visitors using various transit means from the metro and bus stations inside and outside the emirate in addition to taxis deployed at the site.

The RTA will operate 126 buses within Dubai, and 77 buses between Dubai and the other emirates, all so that visitors have a smooth time attending Expo 2020. The buses will apparently run 1,956 direct daily trips from Saturday to Wednesday.

The change in operators coincided with the 12th anniversary of Dubai Metro, which started operation on September 9, 2009.

The RTA’s Director-General Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer said this revenue came from just the authority’s e-payment portal and smart kiosks.
