Doha, Qatar – The second round of free trade agreement negotiations between Qatar and Morocco was held during the period of Jan. 22-23, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of concluding the agreement, and highlighted the cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of both sides, QNA reported.

Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Trade Agreements at the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry Saleh Abdullah Al Mana represented Qatar, while the Moroccan delegation was headed by Director General of Trade at the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade Abdelouahed Rahal.

The second round is a continuation of the first round negotiations, which were organized in Rabat, Morocco, in November 2022.

The free trade agreement represents one of the mechanisms that would contribute to supporting intra-trade, in addition to its role in increasing the volume of investments, increasing exports of both sides, organizing competition, facilitating the free flow of goods and services, and settling trade transactions.
