Tehran, Iran — Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Thursday that discussions with Saudi authorities have resulted in constructive statements regarding assistance for Lebanon’s situation.

“In the discussions we had with Saudi authorities, we heard constructive statements from them regarding assistance to the situation in Lebanon,” Amirabdollahian stated, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran invites all countries to provide economic assistance and cooperation to Lebanon, as it will continue its support for Lebanon.

Upon his arrival in Beirut on Thursday, as part of his regional tour, Amirabdollahian told reporters, “I am very pleased to be here in Beirut today with a high-ranking delegation. Iran wants nothing but good, stability, peace, and development for Lebanon.”

During his visit, he extended an invitation to all Lebanese parties to swiftly engage in dialogue and understanding to choose a president, emphasizing that it should be the wise people and leaders of Lebanon making this decision.

“We expect all regional and international countries to contribute to improving Lebanon’s economic situation through comprehensive economic and trade cooperation,” he added.

Amirabdollahian stressed his belief that Lebanon’s leaders and people possess the necessary insight to make a political decision regarding the election of a president, and he expressed continuous support for Lebanon’s government, people, army, and resistance.
