UAE, Egypt presidents meet, discuss ties, regional issues

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt met in Abu Dhabi to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between their countries. 

The two presidents deliberated on economic, investment, and development collaborations between the two countries, exploring opportunities to further serve their countries’ interests. They exchanged views on regional and global developments, emphasizing the importance of peaceful resolutions to regional conflicts through diplomacy, thus strengthening regional stability.

The leaders discussed the UAE’s upcoming hosting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), highlighting its significance in advancing collective climate action, sustainability, and resource conservation for the benefit of humanity.

Sheikh Mohamed and El-Sisi affirmed their commitment to consultation and joint Arab efforts in addressing regional and international challenges, with a shared goal of enhancing security, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The two leaders celebrated the return of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, with President El-Sisi congratulating the UAE on this achievement. 

The meeting was attended by high-level officials from both countries, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Major General Abbas Kamel from Egypt’s side.
