Tehran, Iran – The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran has made its newest operational drone Kaman-19, a drone for electronic warfare operations, mehrnews reported on Monday.
The Kaman-19 stands out for its specialized design tailored explicitly for electronic warfare, enabling various Iranian military units to effectively counter diverse enemy equipment and weapons. Equipped with a specialized engine, the drone is optimized for high-altitude flights, primarily geared towards reconnaissance missions.
What sets the Kaman-19 apart is its prowess in electronic warfare, disrupting enemy radar and electronic systems. During its inaugural deployment in the 2023 drone exercises, this advanced drone showcased its capability by successfully disrupting aerial systems in an electronic warfare operation.
Moreover, its versatility extends to ground-based operations, where it can interfere with enemy drone communications, disrupting their control stations, and even assuming control over attacking drones by causing electronic disruptions.
Despite its relatively compact size and weight in comparison to other drones in the Iranian army, the Kaman-19 is outfitted with cutting-edge devices that enable it to execute missions with precision.
This addition to the Kaman family, which includes the previously unveiled Kaman-12 and Kaman-22, represents a leap forward in Iran’s defense capabilities. The Kaman-12, noted as the army’s first combat drone, laid the groundwork for subsequent advancements in drone technology.
