Kuwait Airways to resume New York flight

  • Two kinds of aircraft will be operated for the route.
  • The airways has resumed operations from various destinations.

DUBAI: Beginning Saturday, Kuwait Airways will resume its once-a-week commercial flight to and from New York.
Local media reports, citing Kuwait Airways Director of the Public Relations Fayez Al-Enezi, said the destination is in high demand, especially from business travelers, tourists and students.
Since the middle of June this year, the airways has resumed operations from various destinations such as London, Sarajevo, Munich, Paris, Geneva, Frankfurt, Delhi, Kochi, Madras, Trivandrum, Trabzon, Bodrum, Tbilisi, Malacca, Cairo, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Islamabad, Lahore, Colombo and Dhaka.
Reports said the airline will alternate between two kinds of aircraft for this route. Kuwait Airways’ booking engine said the maiden flight to New York on September 11th will be made on a Boeing 777-300ER, and the following week an Airbus A330-200 will be deployed on the same route.
While entry into Kuwait remains heavily restricted, Kuwait Airways hopes that this route will help travelers use the airline’s growing network for flight connections to other destinations.
