Saudi Arabia to allow expats of six countries direct entry from Dec. 1

Saudi Arabia has relaxed travel restrictions for expats from six countries.
  • People from Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Vietnam, India and Egypt need not spend 14 days in transit outside their countries before entering the kingdom.
  • They will have to spend a five-day quarantine regardless of their vaccination status.

Saudi Arabia will allow direct entry of fully vaccinated expatriates from Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Vietnam, India and Egypt from December 1 without the need to spend 14 days in transit outside their countries before entering the kingdom, reports said.

However, they will have to spend a five-day quarantine regardless of their vaccination status, the reports said, although exceptions would apply in some categories of travelers.

The reports, quoting health authorities, said all procedures and measures shall be subject to continuous evaluation by the Kingdom’s competent health authorities, according to the developments in the epidemiological situation globally.

Introduced to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year, the ban covered Lebanon, UAE, Egypt, Turkey, the US, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, Pakistan, South Africa, India, Indonesia and Japan.
