Algerian, South African ministers discuss ways to boost economic cooperation

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Algerian Minister of Finance Laaziz Faid discussed with South African Finance Minister Enoch Godongwan, ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting on Thursday, the two ministers discussed the available opportunities to enhance trade exchange and joint investment, with the aim of achieving sustainable development in the region.

The South African minister expressed his country’s support for Algeria’s accession to the BRICS Bank.

Godongwan said that all possible efforts will be made to speed up the accession process.

The two leaders reviewed several issues raised at the 15th BRICS Summit. Issues, especially those related to financial and monetary cooperation, were also discussed and reviewed by the two ministers.
