Damascus, Syria— Israeli shelling overnight targeted the Damascus area, Syrian state media said Tuesday, adding that air defences had intercepted some of the missiles.

The Syria official news agency SANA reported “explosions in the vicinity of Damascus”.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said the strikes hit Hezbollah weapons depots, killing two people.

“The aggression resulted in the injury of two soldiers with some material losses”, the source said.
