Amman, Jordan – Foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq – Ayman Safadi, Dr. Fouad Hussein, and Sameh Shoukry respectively – held tripartite meetings to deepen joint cooperation and strengthen joint Arab action, according to Jordan’s Foreign Ministry statement.
The foreign ministers ministers stressed the importance of the tripartite cooperation mechanism by activating collaboration in multiple vital sectors to achieve economic integration. .
They agreed to meet in Baghdad soon, and hold sectorial discussions over the economic projects that were agreed upon, and ensure progress in their implementation, in preparation for the summit talks scheduled to be hosted by Egypt next year.
In a joint statement following the meeting, the ministers agreed to maintain “institutional” communication to follow up on implementation of the projects and coordinate future steps to ensure greater momentum in this regard.
They also agreed to hold upcoming meetings within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism in preparation for the fourth summit in Egypt next year.
The ministers stressed the continued action, coordination and consultation in efforts to resolve regional crises and serve Arab issues and interests in a way that achieves the region’s security and stability.
The statement affirmed Jordan’s and and Egypt’s “full” support to Iraq, adding that its security, stability and sovereignty is a pillar for the region’s security.
