Qatar, Spain launch innovation program to support collaborative research

Qatar and Spain launch the Qatar Spain Innovation Program to support collaborative research and development projects.
  • The program aims to support collaborative research and development projects in energy, health, resource sustainability, and digital technology
  • The program is the first fruit of cooperation between the QRDI Council and CDTI, following a MoU signed by Qatar and Spain in 2022

Doha, Qatar: Qatar and Spain have launched the Qatar Spain Innovation Program (QASIP), a joint venture between the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council and the Spanish Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI).

The program is geared to support collaborative research and development projects across all fields, with a focus on energy, health, resource sustainability, and digital technology.

The QASIP seeks to strengthen innovation partnerships between Qatar and Spain by exchanging knowledge and expertise, expanding the RDI community and technology-based startups, and fostering institutional capacities for the national innovation system.

Interested entities can submit their proposals on the QRDI Portal from May 26 to September 7, 2023.

Awarded projects will receive joint funding from QRDI Council and CDTI, with each project receiving up to QAR 1,500,000 annually for up to three years and utilized exclusively within Qatar.
