Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia is hosting the extended 45th session of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee from September 10 to 25 in Riyadh.
This session anticipates the participation of 3,000 individuals representing 21 member states of the World Heritage Committee, out of the 194 states that have ratified the World Heritage Convention.
Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan will attend the meeting along with the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
SPA reported that Saudi Arabia’s hosting of this session underscores its deep commitment to preserving culture and heritage for future generations.
Furthermore, it serves as a global showcase of the substantial efforts dedicated to realizing the goals of the Kingdom Vision 2030, which include the enhancement and preservation of cultural diversity and increased national expenditure across various sectors to elevate the Kingdom’s global standing.
