MOSCOW, RUSSIA – The 11th Moscow Conference on International Security, held at the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center here, saw high-level discussions between Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and military representatives from Saudi Arabia and Iran.
In a meeting with Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi, military adviser to the Saudi defense minister, Fomin discussed bilateral defense cooperation, TASS news agency reported.
The Russian defense ministry described the meeting as being held in an atmosphere of trust and friendship, highlighting the mutual commitment for further cooperation in the defense sphere.
Fomin also met with First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh.
The two officials discussed bilateral military and military technical cooperation, exchanged views on regional security and the international situation, and reiterated their commitment to close dialogue and development of cooperation in the military sphere.
The conference, which did not include any Western states, saw participation from over 800 delegates from 76 countries, including China, India, South Africa, Israel, Turkey, Mexico, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea.
Representatives from eight international organizations, including the UN, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Arab League, and the African Union, also took part in the conference.
The Moscow Conference on International Security has become a significant platform for discussing global and regional security issues, fostering dialogue and cooperation among participating nations.
