Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Royal Guard and the Bahrain Royal Guard have started the joint security exercise “Haris” in Riyadh.
The joint exercise is part of the continuous cooperation between the Saudi Royal Guard and the Bahrain Royal Guard.
The exercise was inaugurated by Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Omari, Chief of Operations Department and general supervisor of the joint exercise, in the presence of all the participants and the exercise support team.
The exercise aims to enhance cooperation, foster the exchange of military and security expertise between the two friendly nations, and improve the proficiency of participants in various security tasks, including personal protection, weapons handling, shooting skills, and special operations.
Saudi Arabia and Bahrain traditionally share a very close relationship. The oil-rich kingdom has long worked closely with Bahrain, even sending troops to help stabilize it in 2011 during the Arab Spring protests.
Meanwhile, Bahrain and Iraq are to host the next two rounds of the Arab League summit, top officials said on Friday.
Saudi Arabia has hosted a historic summit in the Red Sea city of Jeddah over the past few days, attended by regional leaders.
