Saudi Arabia holds GCC meeting to boost economic ties

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—Saudi Arabia hosted a meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee to broaden economic cooperation among the GCC countries.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan and attendance of GCC ministers of finance and GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf.

The meeting reviewed a host of issues related to enhancing financial and economic cooperation among the GCC countries in addition of discussing the impact of the world economic crises on the GCC economies.

Following their meeting, the GCC financial ministers and governors of central banks are scheduled to hold a joint meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

The meeting will discuss a number of inclusive issues of the region, topped by the harms the world economy has incurred from coronavirus pandemic, energy and food market turmoil and continuing supply bottlenecks in addition to cooperation between IMF and GCC countries.
