Villa, Maldini visit Jeddah to promote FIFA Club World Cup 2023

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — Football stars David Villa and Paolo Maldini visited Jeddah today to promote the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted in the city from December 12 to 22.
The two stars met with football fans at the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia official pre-tournament roadshow on Jeddah Corniche, talked about their own experiences as past champions and shared their expectations for this year’s competition, SPA reported.
The roadshow aims to boost fan engagement leading up to the tournament through an array of fun activities that allow fans to experience the festive atmosphere in Jeddah as it prepares to host the global event.
Maldini said that he was delighted to see the level of preparation for the tournament, that he was able to experience first-hand the passion and enthusiasm of the fans in Jeddah, and that he was confident that the FIFA Club World Cup will provide a great experience for the fans and participating teams.
Villa said, “It is great to be here in Jeddah to promote this edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.” He showed confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to organize this tournament “in the best possible way.”
The FIFA Club World Cup is held annually, featuring continental tournament winners and the host country’s league champion. Jeddah will host the event at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Stadiums with the following lineup: Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia), Al Ahly (Egypt), Manchester City (England), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Leon (Mexico), Fluminense (Brazil) and Auckland City (New Zealand).
